iLost is the search engine for lost and found property. On iLost all found objects of affiliated organizations and private finders are online. Together with these organizations and private finders we help to get lost items back to their rightful owners. Check ilost.co to see if your lost item has already been found. Please note that claims will be answered by the finder (organization or individual) and not by iLost. iLost does not physically manage found items.
If you've lost an item at one of our affiliated organizations, we recommend taking the following steps:
- Worldwide, the iLost network comprises over 2000 organizations across various sectors, including transportation, municipalities, airports, entertainment venues, and more.
- Explore the website of the relevant organization to understand their policy on found objects.
- Look for a clickable button, link, or widget that directs you to the organization's iLost page.
- On the organization's iLost page, you'll find a comprehensive list of all discovered items. You can easily search this page by object title and date. If you don't spot your item on the list, it's likely that it hasn't been found yet.
- If your item is listed online, submit a claim detailing why it belongs to you as specifically as possible. The staff of the finding organization will then review your claim against the found object. You'll receive an email confirmation with updates on the status of your claim.
If lost your item in a public area like a street, you can utilize iLost's comprehensive database to aid in your search.
This database encompasses all found objects, contributed by both organizations and private finders.

Unable to locate your item on iLost?
Don't worry, there could be a couple of reasons behind this. Your item may not have been registered yet, or it's possible that it hasn't been found at all. Remember, it can take some time for lost items to be discovered and logged into our system.
The speed of this process depends on the finder. We recommend revisiting ilost.co after a few days to check for updates. Typically, organizations using iLost update their found items during weekdays (Monday to Friday).
If an organization is closed on weekends, you might need to wait until the next business day for a response. Your patience is appreciated as we work to reunite lost items with their rightful owners.
