To claim your item, start by clicking on "Claim item" Then, provide as much detail as possible in the description box. Include a few "control features" – these are details that only the owner would know and that the finder can see and verify. The more information you provide, the easier it will be for the finder to confirm you as the rightful owner, helping you get your item back more quickly.
Here are some suggestions for specific types of items that can help you give the right information to the finder:
- Wallet: Your name, date of birth, or the last 4 digits of the number listed on your cards
-
Bank Card / Credit Card: The last 4 digits of your bank account number and your bank's name
- Mobile Phone: Brand, model, background image, SIM card provider, language setting, unique external features such as your case, stickers, IMEI-number etc.
-
ID Card / Passport / Personal OV Card: Your initials, nationality, and your date of birth (without the year) Please note: Never provide your citizen service number or social security number
-
Clothing: Brand, size, and contents of the pockets
- Backpack: The most valuable items inside
Be thorough! If the finder is still unsure, you may be asked for additional information. It usually takes 1 to 3 business days to receive a response from the finder.
Please remember that many organizations are only open during business hours and are closed on weekends. iLost, as the website administrator, does not handle item claims. This is managed by the organization that found and registered the item.
