Why are some found items registered without a photo?

Updated over 3 months ago

Are you looking for your lost item on the website? It is possible that no photo is displayed with a found item. Usually this is a deliberate choice of the organization or private finder.

To prevent fraud, organizations or private finders choose not to share a photo. This may mean that the found item does not have any specific control characteristics. If a photo of the item would then be placed, in theory anyone could claim the item unjustly.

If you are unsure if the found item is yours, we advise you to place a claim on it so that the organization or private finder can match your description with the object.
