Found an item on iLost that you think belongs to you? You can submit a claim so the finder can verify whether you are the rightful owner.
Follow the steps below to submit your claim.
1. Click “Claim item”
Open the item on iLost and click the blue “Claim item” button below the item details.
2. Describe your item in detail
Provide as many specific details as possible about your lost item.
Try to include information that isn't immediately visible in the photos or description. These details help the finder verify that the item really belongs to you.
For example, depending on the item, you could mention:
A unique mark, scratch, sticker, or other identifying feature
The contents of a bag or wallet
The brand, model, or specific version
Where and when you believe you lost it
Other details that only the owner is likely to know
The more relevant information you provide, the easier it is for the finder to assess your claim.
3. Enter your contact information
Enter your name and email address.
You'll also need to agree to the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy by checking the relevant box.
Make sure your email address is correct, as you'll need it to confirm your claim and receive further updates.
4. Submit your claim
Click “Submit my claim” to send your request.
Your claim isn't active yet. You'll first need to confirm your email address.
5. Confirm your email address
After submitting your claim, we'll send you a confirmation email.
Open the email and click the confirmation link. Your claim will only be forwarded to the finder after you've confirmed your email address.
Didn't receive the confirmation email?
First, check your spam or junk folder.
If you still can't find the email, you may have entered an incorrect email address. In this case, your claim cannot be processed. Please submit a new claim using the correct email address.
6. Wait for the finder to review your claim
Once your email address has been confirmed, your claim is sent to the finder.
The person or organization that registered the item will review the information you've provided and determine whether you are the rightful owner.
You'll receive updates about your claim by email.
💡 Important: Keep an eye on your inbox and spam or junk folder so you don't miss any messages about your claim.
Who reviews and answers my claim?
iLost does not review or approve claims on behalf of finders.
Found items remain with the person or organization that registered them on iLost. The finder is responsible for reviewing your claim, deciding whether you are the rightful owner, and providing information about returning or collecting the item.
This also means that iLost cannot tell you whether your claim has been approved or answer specific questions about the found item.
Haven't received a response?
If you've submitted and confirmed your claim but haven't received a response yet, you can:
Send a reminder to the finder through the claim chat.
Contact the organization directly through its customer service channels if you need further assistance.
💡 Tip: Check your spam or junk folder regularly. Emails about your claim may occasionally be filtered by your email provider.
