Found an item on iLost that matches what you've lost, but there's no photo? This is usually intentional.
Organizations and private finders may choose not to display a photo for security reasons and to prevent fraudulent claims.
Why is the photo hidden?
Sometimes a found item has few unique or identifying features. In these cases, displaying a photo could reveal too much information about the item.
Without a photo, someone submitting a claim must describe the item's appearance and specific characteristics themselves. The finder can then compare these details with the actual item to help determine whether the person claiming it is the rightful owner.
Think the item might be yours?
If the description, location, and date match the item you've lost, we recommend submitting a claim even if there is no photo.
When submitting your claim, describe your item as specifically as possible. Include details about its appearance, brand, model, contents, unique features, or anything else that could help identify it. The organization or private finder will compare your description with the found item and determine whether it belongs to you.
💡 Tip: Don't worry if you can't see a photo. Providing details that only the owner is likely to know can actually help the finder verify your claim.
